Product Description

### Principle - **

Pulsed Laser Technology**: Picosure uses picosecond-level pulsed laser technology. It emits extremely short pulses of high-intensity laser light. The duration of these pulses is in the picosecond range (one picosecond is one trillionth of a second).

- **Photoacoustic Effect**: When the laser pulses interact with the pigmented targets in the skin, such as melanin in freckles, moles, or tattoo ink particles, they create a photoacoustic effect. The high-energy laser pulses are absorbed by the pigmented particles. This rapid absorption of energy causes the pigmented particles to expand and then shatter into much smaller fragments. The body's immune system can then more easily recognize and remove these fragmented pigment particles through phagocytosis.

### Working

- **Device Operation**: The Picosure device consists of a laser generator and a handpiece. The operator selects the appropriate treatment parameters, including the wavelength, pulse energy, and spot size, according to the type and depth of the pigmentation being treated. - **Laser Emission**: The laser generator produces the picosecond laser pulses and transmits them to the handpiece. When the handpiece is held against the skin, it emits the laser pulses onto the targeted area.

- **Pigment Fragmentation**: The laser pulses penetrate the skin and reach the pigmented particles. As the energy from the laser is absorbed by the pigments, the photoacoustic effect occurs, causing the pigment particles to break apart into tiny pieces. The smaller the pigment particles are fragmented, the easier it is for the body's natural clearance mechanisms to eliminate them.

### Functions - **Tattoo Removal**: Picosure is highly effective in removing tattoos. It can break down a wide range of tattoo inks, regardless of their color and composition. Multiple treatments are usually required to completely remove the tattoo, but it can significantly lighten or even eliminate tattoos with minimal damage to the surrounding skin.

- **Pigmented Lesion Treatment**: It is also used to treat various pigmented skin lesions, such as melasma, freckles, solar lentigines, and nevus of Ota. By selectively targeting and destroying the excess melanin in these lesions, Picosure can improve the appearance of the skin and reduce the visibility of the pigmented areas.

- **Skin Rejuvenation**: In addition to pigment-related treatments, Picosure can also have a skin rejuvenation effect. The micro-injuries caused by the laser pulses stimulate the skin's natural healing process, which promotes the production of collagen and elastin. This can lead to an improvement in skin texture, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and an overall enhancement of skin tone and radiance.

### Treatment Course

- **Number of Sessions**: The number of treatment sessions varies depending on the type and severity of the condition being treated. For tattoo removal, it usually requires 6 to 12 sessions or more, while for pigmented lesions, 3 to 6 sessions may be sufficient.

- **Interval between Sessions**: The interval between each treatment session is typically 4 to 8 weeks. This allows the body enough time to clear the fragmented pigment particles and for the skin to heal and recover between treatments.

- **Recovery and Aftercare**: After each treatment, the skin may experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort, which usually subside within a few days. Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure, keep the treated area clean, and follow the doctor's instructions for applying topical medications or skincare products to promote healing and prevent complications.
